Dr. Carolina Diaz-Puentes, affectionately known to her patients as Dr. Diaz, has been dedicated to improving smiles and enhancing lives since beginning her dental career in 2002. She believes that a healthy, beautiful smile brings confidence and significantly improves overall quality of life-a philosophy that continues to guide her patient-centered approach to care.

Dr. Diaz-Puentes earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia. During her dental training, one of the most meaningful experiences was spending a year providing care in a rural community, where she witnessed firsthand the challenges many people face in accessing oral healthcare. This experience deepened her commitment to serving others and reinforced her passion for dentistry.

To further expand her expertise, Dr. Diaz-Puentes pursued advanced education in the United States. She completed English as a Second Language studies at Western Kentucky University, followed by a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the same institution. She later enhanced her knowledge in community-based dentistry through a Dental Public Health Residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA). Her public health background allows her to emphasize the strong connection between oral health, overall wellbeing, and quality of life, with a special focus on disease prevention and patient education.

Inspired by the opportunity to help individuals overcome oral health challenges, Dr. Diaz-Puentes has always known she wanted to become a dentist. She finds the most fulfilling aspect of her profession in seeing her patients’ satisfaction and the positive impact dental care has on their emotional wellbeing. Committed to excellence, she regularly participates in continuing education courses to stay current with the latest advancements in dentistry.

Outside of the office, Dr. Diaz-Puentes enjoys painting, outdoor activities, and traveling with her family. She is also passionate about giving back to the community and supports initiatives related to breast cancer awareness.

Dr. Diaz-Puentes’ mission is to contribute to the improvement and maintenance of oral health through compassionate clinical care and education, promoting disease prevention while recognizing the vital relationship between oral health, wellbeing, and overall quality of life.
